Nats to host a Halloween-themed pep rally before the playoffs
A D.C.-based baseball team hasn’t won a postseason series since 1924, but don’t fear the playoffs, Nats fans. Fear the zombies that will be roaming the concourse at Nationals Park on Oct. 4 during the Nationals’ Halloween-themed “Haunted Pep Rally.”
The free event, which will be held two days before Game 1 of the National League Division Series, will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and include activities for fans of all ages. Everyone who attends will be entered into a raffle to win various prizes, including postseason gear. (Yes, this explains the creepy video the Nationals tweeted Wednesday night.)
Fans 12 and under are invited to go trick-or-treating with the Racing Presidents from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Costumes aren’t required, but fans must bring their own bags, and Teddy reserves the right to deny candy to anyone wearing Cubs gear. The marquee attraction is the Zombie Zone, which will be open from 7 to 9 p.m. Visitors will be tasked with saving “Nationals players” while avoiding zombies along the concourse. Fans who successfully do so will receive Dusty Baker’s eternal thanks, an additional raffle entry and access to an augmented reality experience on their phones. Space is limited for the Zombie Zone; fans are encouraged to register ahead of time at Nationals.com/zombie.

There will also be a pep rally in the Center Field Plaza featuring hosts from 106.7 The Fan, special guests and food trucks. The main team store will be open and any ghosts who drop in will be Doo-ing, not Boo-ing. Free parking will be available beginning at 6 p.m. in Garage C and the Geico Garage on opposite sides of the Center Field Gates, which will open at 6:30 p.m.
Looking ahead to the playoffs, single-game tickets for the NLDS will go on sale to Nats Plus and season plan holders on Tuesday. There will be a presale for members of the Nats Fan Club, which is free for anyone to join, on Wednesday. NLDS tickets will go on sale to the general public on Thursday. Single-game ticket prices for the playoffs have yet to be announced, but a Nationals spokesperson said they will be posted here on Friday.
