Brett Gardner says obsessed fan has harassed and menaced his family

Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner says an obsessed fan who calls herself his “future wife” has “harassed and menaced” his family, according to court papers the slugger filed in the Bronx.

Gardner said Gina Devasahayam “believes she knows me personally and maintains some sort of amorous relationship with me,” Gardner said in a new petition in the case filed Tuesday and reported by NJ.com on Wednesday. “This is not true.”

Devasahayam, 46, has claimed Gardner sends her “sexual” signals and wants to raise a family with the outfielder, and says in her own court filing that the Yankees veteran is “also delaying my biological clock for my pregnancy as I would like to start this process immediately.”

Devasahayam sued Major League Baseball and the Bronx Bombers last year to gain access to her love interest after she was kicked out of an October playoff game for trying to get into the clubhouse.

Gardner, 36, last week asked for a restraining order to keep the crazed fan away.

On Tuesday, he filed a petition for an order of protection, calling her lawsuit “deluded,” NJ.com said.

He said Devasahayam won’t stop calling and emailing him and wants the judge to order her to stay at least 500 feet from him and his family, from Yankees Stadium, and from other MLB parks.

Her obsession with Gardner dates to October 2015, when she emailed then-Yankees manager Joe Girardi that she was “fascinated” with the outfielder. She later wrote Gardner a love letter.

Devasahayam has since been relentless on Twitter, where she continues to profess her love for Gardner.

“Happy Valentine’s day mi amor Gardy,” she posted on Friday.

“Thank you for the fan following after the media explosion today regarding my romantic relationship with Brett,” she said in a post on Tuesday. “‘Obsessed’ and ‘crazed’ are false descriptions of me, there is an authentic romance between us!”

Gardner declined to comment this week in Tampa, where the Yankees hold spring training.
